The Geneva Lakes area was blanketed with a thick snow cover last weekend. Area snow totals reported by the National Weather Service ranged from 9-11,” a record-breaking amount for southeastern Wisconsin in November. Saturday morning winter sports enthusiasts were out in full force, especially kids, who dug out their sleds and enjoyed their first thrilling ride of the season down Rudy Lange Sledding Hill in Delavan. The snow and slippery roads didn’t stop the Elkhorn Penguins Pentathlon from occurring on Saturday afternoon. The competitive swim team, for kids of all ages, hosted five schools in this annual swim meet at Elkhorn High School. On Sunday, the official beginning of the holiday season got underway at Grand Geneva Resort where over two million lights were illuminated for their Christmas in the Country celebration.
