The first substantial snowfall of the season blanketed the Geneva Lakes area last weekend, which meant winter sports enthusiasts were dusting off their skis and hitting the slopes. The timing couldn’t have been better for those wanting to check out the makeover at nearby Wilmot Mountain. Visitors were welcomed back to the ski slope with more than $13 million in improvements by its new owner Vail Resorts. Everything from new lifts and a high-speed tow rope to a new kids’ ski school and state-of-the-art snowmaking equipment are in place and ready for a full season of wintertime fun.
