What’s Happening At The Lake …

Geneva Lake is a mecca for those loving water sports, but our short Wisconsin summers leave many longing for more time on the water. Well, last Saturday afternoon dozens of hearty souls got their wish to tube, surf, water-ski and wakeboard as they braved the chilly waters of Geneva Lake for Gage Marine’s Freezin for a Reason event. Those participating solicited sponsorship pledges from businesses, family and friends as a fundraiser for Santa Cause, which is a “super charity,” supporting “The 12 Charities of Christmas” in Walworth County. Some of the benefactors include Walworth County Alliance for Children, Boys & Girls Clubs of Lake Geneva, Agape House, Walworth County Food Pantry, and Open Arms Free Clinic. Those participating as well as their fans enjoyed a bit of summertime, while helping out those in need. Bravo!

Gingerbread House Display: Each year, during the holidays, Grand Geneva Resort & Spa has a fabulous display of gingerbread houses that are submitted by both professionals and amateurs. Come view these masterpieces located just outside Ristorante Brissago. For more information, click here.

Santa and His Reindeer: For youngsters or just the young at heart, it simply wouldn’t be Christmastime without seeing the jolly old elf. Add a few of his reindeer and it’s an extra special treat. Visit downtown Lake Geneva this Saturday afternoon and tell Santa what you’d like to see under the treeClick here for details.

Veranda Views from the Hall: Black Point Estate and Gardens is partnering with Lake Geneva’s Horticultural Hall for the popular winter lecture series, Veranda Views from the Hall. Kicking off the series is this Saturday’s program on the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald by Wisconsin author and storyteller Rochelle Pennington. For details, click here.
