Last weekend thousands flocked to Lake Geneva for the city’s annual Winterfest celebration and the U.S. National Snow Sculpting Competition. Teams from as far away as Alaska and Maine created more than a dozen sculptures. Although not the winning entry, one of our favorites (shown below), was created by a team from Illinois. After viewing the sculptures and enjoying the crisp winter air, The Baker House’s Ice Bar was a popular spot to relax with a beverage of choice. The Winterfest fun continued this week with all sorts of activities. Frosty’s Beach Bonfire was held on Tuesday night with samples of Oakfire’s panzerotti’s, and Simple’s hot cocoa. Proceeds from the sales benefited the Lake Geneva Fire Department.
