Now that Memorial Day has come and gone, it’s officially summertime at the lake! The long weekend was perfect for all types of outdoor activities. Hosta Fest was the place to be if landscaping projects are on your to-do list. Over 175 varieties of the perennial plant were for sale, including large mature specimens. It wouldn’t be Memorial Day, without Burlington’s Chocolate Fest. This weekend-long event was well attended as usual and included all things chocolate plus games, rides, food and musical entertainment by bands such as Bella Cain. With temperatures in the 80s all weekend, there was also plenty of time to squeeze in some beach time with family and friends.
